Sweet Revivial {A Bedroom Suite}

A recent acquisition, an "end-of-the-last-day" estate sale find (such deals to be had at that hour).

We weren't planning to stop. But you know how those signs beckon from the street...

We came upon it on our way to somewhere else, and we won't discuss the fact that we arrived an hour late. It was completely excusable.

It isn't much too look at in its 1970's dressings, but just wait.  It will be perfect for a modern revamp. The Regency style of this suite has the clean lines we modernists love but with a bit of detail for a more classic feel.

I love that. I love this set. I love the potential they have to become something more that their outdated antiqued white:

 with antiqued brass hardware:

Reviving this set included a gray painted finish, lightly distressed, and refreshed hardware.

After a week's worth of sanding, priming, painting, & poly - it's done! A lot of work went into it, but it turned out beautifully.

Painting & sealing the pulls was first on the list.

I love Rust-Oleum's Oil-Rubbed Bronze for hardware.

The gray paint was from Clark + Kensington at Ace Hardware.  I really love the warmth of their gray - with just the right amount of distressing.

Last, a few coats of poly to protect its surface.

Painting the surface in a warm gray & resurfacing the hardware takes this suite from dated to updated.

Love me some Regency!
